The City of Glenn Heights is a small bedroom community located about 20 miles south of Dallas. The City sits in 2 counties, Dallas and Ellis and serves 2 school districts. In the southern portion of the City is Red Oak Independent School District and in the northern portion of the City is DeSoto Independent School District.
Both school districts provide excellent education for K-12 grades and have been rated recognized by the Texas Education Agency.

The City is also, a member of Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) and has a ride and shuttle service and DART on-call service located at Bear Creek and Interstate 35. This service provides additional ride and share opportunities for citizens.
